I currently have a few amanos in my tank. I have noticed 2 of them seemingly berried (no plans to try to raise babies), today I noticed an empty shell and all are accounted for so molting seems to be fine.

Since the Amanos are doing well can I assume other species such as Neo's would also do well or are amanos just that hardy they can survive anything?

I wouldn't say that amanos are hardier than any other shrimp species. I've had them die more often than neocaridinas. Test your water parameters first. I keep amanos fine in both 3GH and 1GH both tanks with high nitrates (tap water and too lazy to change my dosing from ADA stuff for the time being). I think stability, oxygenation and bacterial/ecosystem health plays the biggest part in keeping shrimp successfully in addition to their own preferred water chemistry parameters.

Thanks for the reply I guess my main question would be do any other species have similar requirements on parameters as Amanos?

Amano's can survive in a wide variety of environments. The better way to determine what kind of shrimp to add is to figure out your water parameters and go from there.

Lol ya I was being lazy and bored while at work hoping for an easy answer. With a natural gh of 0 from the tap and a kh of 9. I have been adding some gh booster and was worried my Amanos wouldn't be able to properly molt. Seems to have helped now gotta break out the testers and see where we are.

from what i've read online, the majority of amano shrimp are wild caught and its not uncommon for some (if not most) to die when you put them in your tank because of the stress. The eggs require saltwater to survive.
