Pics comparing my PFR from S.Oak to regular ol' RCS
 

OK, so I know I'm not the best photographer, but these pics do a good job of showing the difference between a Southern Oak Aquatic painted fire red shrimp and regular cherry shrimp:

I'm hoping that these guys help improve the color of my colony. I hope to increase the number of PFRs after the holidays, too.

They really are! The rest of my cherry shrimp are fun to watch, but every now and then one of these PFRs will crawl through the plants near the front, or swim across the middle of the tank, and it is absolutely eyecatching. The other shrimp become much less noticeable in the presence of the PFR.

I'm debating whether or not to set up a PFR-only aquarium. I do want to improve the color of my colony in my main tank, but it sure would be cheaper if I had a breeding colony of PFR that I could use to add color to my main colony, instead of buying a dozen here and a dozen there.
