I need help with tank reseal questions

First I'm wondering if I need to reseal the tank at all. It is an older 75 gallon with 1/2 thick glass. The seams seem to be in good shape, but I noticed a few air bubbles in the silicone where it is spread thin on the glass. I also noticed some small cracking in the thin area at one lower side. other than that it looks good.

Should I reseal the tank?

If I should reseal it...
Can I just trim out and clean where the exposed silicone is located along the seams without taking the tank completely apart and removing the sealant within the seams between the glass?

If I reseal I plan to use RTV-108 silicone. How many caulk sized tubes would I need to reseal a 75 gallon tank?

I'd do a flood test first: fill it up and let it sit for a week or so to see if it's leaking to begin with.
If it leaks, then you'll have to see where:
if it's leaking where the cracked silicone is, then you'll need to reseal; if the cracked silicone is between the panes of the glass, then you'll have to break down the panes and basically make a new tank out of the panes from the tank.
New silicone doesn't adhere well to old silicone, so a tedious scraping will need to be done.
