Jungle Val substitute?
 

I like the look of the jungle Val I have but I'd like to find something that is similar but doesn't have runners. Access to the back of the tank is tough, it's 96"x30"x27" not to mention having to deal with the canopy. It's tough to see now but on the right I've planted some Rotala and limnophila. It's been there only a couple weeks and has done well so far. I'd like something tall and grasslike that may complement them. I have ~2 watts/gallon, 6700k compact fluorescent and am injecting CO2. Crypt flaccidfolia and Crypt balansae will both look like Vals. They will put out runners, but not nearly the rate of Vals. You will only trim a few a year.
