Do I need ferts?
Heres's the setup:
16 gallon tank Eco-complete substrate Pressurized co2 36W PC I only have dwarf hairgrass, HC and moss. What I've been noticing is the HC stems and leaves are somewhat flimsy, as if its ready to melt, but then I also see new growth. I know they are growing because I am trimming every 2 weeks. Do I need ferts? Here's a quick picture of tank and HC. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...2D34499679.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...2D3C7B6DD8.jpg |
Yes, you cannot keep up the plant growth without fertilizers. Did you use any slow release products under the substrate?
Do you have fish or shrimp in the tank? Fish food contains enough nutrients for a low tech tank, mostly, but not enough for higher light, and pressurized CO2. |
thanks. No, i didnt use root tabs or anything like it. I will start dosing ferts then. Thanks again!
