Hi guys , just wanted to show off my tank... This tank has been setup since aug 2011, but also survived moving house... It's doing very well.. 8 hours of light, flourish carbon everyday and I'm pruning every week....

Lighting: 1 X 12w LED - The room gets bright ambient sunlight...
Equipment:55W heater Built-in 3 stage filter CO2: nil Substrate:Layer one - thin Eco-Complete then cap|top layer white river pebbles I had very limited budget when I started it, and I practically just asked a few mates with high tech tanks to give me their left over plants and trimmings, half a kilo of the Eco-Complete. I dare say I've used up the nutrients already on the Eco-Complete substrate, so Im begining to add flourish carbon everyday and Flourish trace every week. I have a few BB algae and other types of algae on the tank, but I think I found the balance know to not mind them being there, as long as they are controlled. Thanks all.. |
Also just to add: Not only that this tank survived a house move, It also survived a power problem | outage at my old house and we had no electricity for 8 days. Thanks goodness it was spring and the ambient temp in the house was around 24C. I couldn't do anything. So i just kept an eye on my parameters - water change bucket at the ready. And guess what... the parameters never fluctuated (apart from temp change from 28C to 26C) to cause concern!!!

Keep up the good work

I like your tank... What a great little environment

Thanks again all...
In a few months time, this tank will be retired and its contents will be transferred to a 46 liter Fluval Edge. I was given this tank many months ago and was very reluctant to start it up. But its sitting in the garage long enough. Again, its will be a low tech, planted tank and with a limited budget. Any advice on the type of substrate and filter mods I should consider? |
Nice looking tank!
