Will Assassins kill a good sized Ramshorn?

Have a few assassin snails in my nano, was thinking of putting in a Ramshorn from the big tank (some hitched on some plants, a few turned out to be a bright pink/orange, the rest black). Will the Assassins make him lunch? They leave them alone in the big tank but there are plenty of little pond type snails in there for them to chop on.

Thought about getting a nerite or 2 to eat algae, but heard they leave hard unsightly eggs everywhere.

I've had Assassin Snails team up to take down large Nerites and even larger Pomacea diffusa.

Your mileage may vary but they definitely eat Ramshorn snails.

That will be a nice dinner for them!

i wouldn't put it past them given their name... They have also been known to tag team on larger prey.

How does Assassin Snails find their prey? A larger tank is pretty big, they cant be sitting in the substrate all day. Do they follow some type of trail left by other snails or something

The same way anything else in a small, enclosed body of water finds its prey. By hunting or otherwise following things around.

It's inevitable that they'll eventually catch up to their prey.

Thinking that my MTS were safe from Assassins I put a couple of the latter in one of my shrimp tanks. I'd raised the sweet MTS from babyhood, have had them for years in an old 10 gallon tank with nothing else. Anyway a few minutes after putting the Assassins in the tank they attacked one of the MTS's. I freaked.
I bought the Assassins to get the pond snails that caught a ride on a plant.

The Assassins found a new home real quick, by the way!

My assassins, when they can be bothered to hunt will happily take down a full sized ramshorn or MTS, pond snails they seem to avoid though. Bear in mind that my assassins are fairly lazy though, and I have read about other peoples eating pond snails happily.

No such thing as a stupid question! Just maybe one that creates humor!

They don't produce as quickly as pond snails.
