Help interpreting data
 

The concept of PAR makes absolute sense but I came across some lights that only report reported luminous flux.

My understanding it that the measurement of lux (lumens/area) gives a measure of how the eye perceives brightness. My question is simply, if we ignore PAR for a minute, would a lux in the range of 35k be too bright? The descriptions I've seen suggest 35k is equivalent to direct sunlight. Might that be too distracting for a tank in a living area?
