My Red Tiger berried female

Just wanted to show off my Red Tiger gal in all her glory!

My Tigers are breeding good now, saw some youngsters already red striped, so they are breeding true!

Congrats! Looking good!

Yeah Im a little downed out today, just lost my lovely BB female...bad molt :( She just dropped babies in my tank, and from what I can see of them (hiding all over) they are red/red white looking. Im thinking one of the Red Mischlings might have gotten her...time will tell. :confused1:

I just found this Red Tiger gal in my other tank, so thought I'd cheer myself up by posting her picture...thanks.

Congrats. Out of curiosity may I ask what your parameters are?

rodcuda 10-04-2012 11:02 PM

Sorry to hear about the loss.

She looks lovely!

Condolences on your loss. I'm glad you have babies to comfort you.

thanks all...it may have been something I did! oooohhhnooo....I dosed the tank with Eros, thinking that would help her get rebred as I put my deep blue BB male in the tank with her. May have got a little carried away with it (being a small tank 2.5 gallon) didn't do a water change either, and you know these Taiwan's are finicky about change.....might have been a little too much :icon_eek:

Death by aphrodisiac!

Nooooooooooooooo!

wicca27 10-05-2012 12:57 AM

mine refuse to berry the last month or so even with water changes and molts ive thought about getting another 1 or 2 to see if that would help

pinoyghost2 10-06-2012 10:54 PM

Interesting today I see my Crown Mosura baby (1 so far that I can find) and its black and white:confused1: Now there were NO CBS in the Taiwan tank when I had her in there (where she got berried) but in that tank was black and white Mischling, BTOE, and BKK....sooo now I have to try to figure out if this little one is a Panda, or a Mischling?

rodcuda 10-06-2012 11:00 PM

What is the setup on your Tiger tank? What are you using for substrate? and what is the ph?

pinoyghost2 10-07-2012 12:08 PM

setup is 3ft long tank, clay soil, dragon lace rocks, moss, java ferns, 3 sponge filters, cholla wood. PH is 7.2 and temp is 72F. KH is 3-4

Red and Tangerine Tigers breeding now, OEBTs breeding too, and now Pinto Tibee berried.

rodcuda 10-07-2012 03:24 PM

Where did you get the clay soil? Does it reduce the ph? Do you keep your house that cold or are you using a fan to keep the temp down?

pinoyghost2 10-07-2012 03:32 PM

I have central air and its always at that temp all year round. :)
you can use Turface that's the same stuff! It does keep PH down, but not low enough for Taiwans...you have to layer Peat moss between. I just did this in my newly setup plant tank and the PH is now below 6, KH 1-2
perfect for Taiwans to breed in...so I will be moving a few of them over to this tank, see if I can't get them to breed.
:)

Heck everyone else is doing it...even my big Apple Snails...just laid a huge amount of eggs in my 125 gallon goldfish tank! Has to be 4 inch long.
