I'll start a thread for our local hobbyists as some of us with MTS (Multiple Tank Syndrome) find it difficult to keep so many journals.

XD they're 10 liter Jars (around 2.5 gallon? but it looks like more) . I got them from Mango in soho. they were display jars. My friend told me they're not supposed to sell these stuff.OH well.
I really like mine too. too bad they didnt sell more.
Took a picture yesterday morning when I was home sick, finally got around to uploading it. This is what I call the "she can't possibly eat this much duckweed, she would explode" method of keeping plants with goldfish.
Er, don't mind the splash on the back wall, it's just iron fertilizer.
Dear rest of world: please don't be as stupid as chibi and allow a goldfish access to her weight in duckweed. She will eat it all and settle onto the bottom, looking like she's dying - until she poos it all out, at which point she will cheerfully attempt to find some more to eat.
I seriously didn't think that much could physically fit into her digestive tract. (And it can't. At least not without copious amounts exiting at the other end.)
Guess she's going to have another growth spurt ... aw crud. I can't buy more fish! I need to buy her a bigger tank!
I was inspired by some photos of fish that can be found on the net, so today I tried , please don't look at the BBA and some algae on the glass.
these are my submarines :
also when I was cropping and making minor adjustments in Lightroom, I noticed that I left ISO at 1250 !?!...I hate to forget to reset settings ... anyways all those pics at 1250 iso...
Monsterfish, tell me if you have luck with the hygroryza. I got some from BarbGirl too, and it was beautiful when it arrived, with enormous fuzzy roots with a beautiful green color, but within weeks all the roots shrunk down to almost nothing. All my other plants are thriving so I'm wondering what this one needs, that it doesn't get.
I'm currently growing the stems I got in a container. It get's light from a south-facing window and an 18 watt cfl. I dose macros every day. I think to keep the long roots, it needs to be in an environment with ample nitrates in the water column. I'll see if I can switch it over to an old 2.5 gallon to see how long the roots will get.
Yay! fully stocked! most of it is the microsword I pulled out from my tank on weds. was too lazy to play each individual one and just laid them down on the substrate, with roots facing the general direction of down >.>
so I think i have
anubias nana
micro swords
subset hygro
some kind of crypt
flame,xmas and java moss
HC
HM
unidentified plants
and
some plants monster fish gave me which I still don't know the names of!
do this with a larger tank, for the safety of the livestock. wild swings and spikes will surely have high collateral damage. High full spectrum light will also be a necessity as well as ferts.
nothing in the jar other than plants. this is my emmersed tank
oh and I'll be happy to win the next batch of water lettuce at the auction for your salad cravings
