some shrimp pics
those rcs are kindly from kychris.
posting those pic as promised :-)
1. canon t2i + canon compact macro 50mm lens
2. tripod and timer remote switch for camera
Great pics, counting the days until I can get some shrimp for my new nano and seeing your pics and Jake's tank journals is making it unbearable! So nice to see knowledgeable shrimp keepers locally, really eases my mind.
So jelly... keep em comin'
Any full tank shots?
It's just a 10 gallon, nothing pro :-)
It is a very nice tank, and this gives me some ideas for my new spec.
Any details on your setup like CO2, light (type and photoperiod), ferts (if any), etc...?
they look really great! nice work on the photos as well!
I do not use CO2 since its not cheap and I've heard that it is hard to tweak to not-to-kill your shrimp :-)
For light I am using a coralife 24 inch 36 watt, providing medium-to-high light for a 10 gallon, sufficient for my low-light plants.
substrate is regular black sand, cheap and nothing fancy.
No ferts for plants. I tried to minimize the chemicals that I put in the tank.
I have some small driftwood in the tank and an almond leaf in the tank to lower the PH a little bit but I think the current PH is between 7.8 and 8.0. Ammonia and Nitrite is 0 and nitrate is around 20.
No measurement for KH/GH since I do not have the kit (I think somewhatshocked knows more about the tap water used in Lexington :-))
10% water change once every week using Lexington tap water and Dechlorinates
Btw, I have some low light plants to give away. If u plan to visit Lexington, u are welcome to take them all
HA! Yep, the tap water in Kentucky is a disaster but your shrimp seem to be doing well. Though, surely you don't need a heater in Lexington...?
Some from my random shrimp collection...
3gal - Golden/Snow White
12gal - CBS/CRS/PFR
20gal PRL CRS
Old Ebi - Yellows
Yep the heater was never used.
I put it there just in case :P
I like your CRS/CBS.
what substrate and water parameters do u use/keep?
I use all kinds of substrates and my tanks have varying parameters. Though, all of that information is in my tank journals.
