South Tampa Cherry Shrimp
 

So my cherry shrimp are breeding like crazy in my 27 gallon cube that I have setup. I currently supply a few LFS's in the Tampa Bay area but thought I'd throw them out to everyone as well. I don't want to deal with shipping them to people but am willing to sell them for local pickup. I'm asking $2/ea. Don't know if I should post this here as I'm only looking to sell locally or if I should put it in the swap and shop. PM me if interested!

Thats a fine lookin tank! I have a 10 gallon that I have just finished cycling and I am going to be getting my 55 gallon ready for shrimps soon...

Are you randomly pulling them up or can you pick a good mix of males and females ?

I can get a good mix of them. I usually throw an algae wafer in so I can see them better and grab them that way.

I have a few packages coming in this week from members here if the ones that I am looking for get here soon enough I will PM you for about a dozen of them :) (I'll be prepping the one tank Tuesday if all my stuff gets here)

Haha yea it is! The storm wasn't too bad around me. Just a lot of wind and rain. How was it by you?

Still have a lot of shrimp left for anyone interested. I'm also giving a shot at whisker shrimp. Just moved my berried female to a different tank to see how it goes.

FYI, if you're having trouble moving them it's cause they go for about $1 ea. shipped these days, i.e. http://epicfish.net/.

I'm actually not having a problem. I've sold about 20-30 to users on the forum and sell weekly to a couple local fish stores. The local fish stores here in Tampa sell them anywhere from $3-$5 each. I supply a couple of them weekly with anywhere from 6-12 at a time. Just something to help fund the hobby and to help offer others the same shrimp they would possibly buy in the local stores for a little less. Just cutting out the middle man if they are on the forum. Is that site to sell it yours? Just curious as I would like to introduce some new shrimp into my mix for breeding. Thanks for the info though!

Not mine, it's epicfish's (on the forums here too), got my first RCS from him. You're right though, the LFS here still sells RCS for $6/each, and they're basically see through! Epic's are decent cherries, perhaps some low grade Sakura mixed in.

I've moved on to PFRs, been slowly culling away all my cherries, long and painful since I mixed them early on :/

That's why the local fish stores started buying from me because I bring in the bright reds. They've stated they are the best shrimps they've ever sold from their stores and have ceased all orders from their suppliers. That's the sole purpose of my 27 gal cube is for breeding them but also giving me the chance to work on my aquascaping techniques/skills. So the stores give me store credit and I buy my supplies with it. I can't tell you the last time I've paid out of pocket for aquarium supplies or equipment.

Well I went on vacation and have way too many shrimp now. $1 each if anyone is interested in any cherries. Let me know!
