I just redid my pico, basically I stood up the wood. I like the wood but I am trying to imagine how it will look when the plants grow out. I am unsure of the placement of plants.
Top is normal Java fern, the middle is Windlov and the bottom is golden nana. Should I rearrange them, leave them or remove them?
I think as your fern grows it will get too big to be where it is and will look odd but it works until then. As it gets closer to full grown, maybe a second piece of driftwood or stone on the bottom and behind the current driftwood?
I added some rocks and changed the wood to a different piece. I placed a small ludwigia stem behind the back right side rock. I am still thinking about doing a carpet as some of you have suggested. I am talking with a member here about getting some HC, I have some riccia that's growing out so I may try that if I don't get the HC.
I like the change. The wood just did not seem right before... was going to suggest flipping it and trying other positions with it. However, the piece you are using now works and I think it looks great!
Big improvement, but I would add something petite in the background to give more perspective. Maybe something on the ground in the back?
