Nice pond too Mr. Gaboozlebag...I laugh even as I type the name....

I see that the Hyacinth is growing well! I had to remove it often as it would cover the surface if you let it!

One of my little nieces didn't pay attention and took a swim... No fish were harmed in the process.
Haha I had a friend go "swimming" in out old pond, and our pond was quite deep around 4 feet deep in the very center . Boy did that wake him up!

Yeah I have some moss/shrimp addiction problems. At least I'm not in the red because of them, yet.

Yes, as soon as I added a pump, filter and the waterfall, the green water went away. Before, it was interesting to watch as the sun hit the pond, green nebulae started to form.

BTW the only aquarium plants that thrive in my pond are sagittarias. Vallisnerias grow fine, but are completely red/bronze color (sign of nutrient deficiencies). Both survive the winters fine. Crypts grow okay, but die when it gets too cold. Any other aquarium plants dissolve quickly.

Ohh.. I love Irish Moss! I found a place that sells it this summer. I'll have to pick some up next year.
Hopefully I can get a pic tomorrow and post it!

We did ours about 8 years ago and had goldfish in it, but about 3 years ago we did a makeover on the pond and it is now 1000g and holds 5 koi that started out small but are getting decent size.

Look in the last picture. See the big fake rock? That houses the electircal outlets for the lights around it. The flat "rock" panel to the right just behind the rock liner of the pond is where the skimmer is. The water goes in there, through a net and to a 4500gph pump that sends the water to the tower at the top which is filled with a BIIIIIG bag of carbon and a few large filter pads then overflows to a small pool, then runs to the left or right side back to the main pond. Circulation is great, it is ALWAYS clear and the only alge that grows is in the streams.

Default wow!

i just came across the pics now(a month after you posted them!).Man I wish my yard was big enough to do something that big.I have always wanted to do a pond.My max size would be 300 gal.Or maybe just a water fall.Every year I say "this is the year!".I just looked out the window and it is snowing heavily.I guess I'll have to wait some more.

Here are a few of my pond, it's 4,000 gallons, over 4 feet deep in the lower pond, which is actually the one on the top in the pic! I have quite a few Koi, and have just begun to start seeing them again, due to the ice finally being gone. I only have 2 lilies in the lower pond, because the koi like to eat them sometimes, but I have 9 in the upper pond. I am so glad spring is on it's way!
Taken from my bedroom window, through the screen

'Joey Tomocik' hardy lily

Tropical 'Albert Greenberg' Lily

View from the side of the lower pond, the umbrella is there to keep the bottom pond a bit cooler in the summer, since it can't be covered with lilies

I'm in 5a I believe, could be 5b according to the map I have. The Winters get pretty cold, but so far we have been lucky with no losses all winter, and healthy fish in the spring. I would love to have a greenhouse enclosed pond, but that's pushing my luck a bit with the hubby. The plants stay in year round, and are starting to break the surface already, I love spring!
