Planted Tank Obsessed

How do I nurse Micro Sword back to health after most of it died?
I had some crayfish and they ate most of my microsword, so now I only have a little bit left. I gave them away to my friend and bought some shrimp. I have some brown algae growing on the microsword leaves. Now, how do I nurse it back to health and how do I get rid of the algae? I do not know my water parameters, I don't have a test kit.

Spot dosing Excel should take care of the algae. I haven't had much experience with dosing Excel with Microsword, though. I do know that once the plant re-establishes itself it'll spread like a weed.
If the algae is brown diatoms, it should go away by itself after a while.

Amanos will clean the brown algae for you if it isn't too severe. It will go away eventually as well, given some time.
As for nursing it back to health, just maintain a stable nutrient/co2 and light balance and it'll jump right back. It's not a too difficult of a plant.
