Can't grow Sunset Hygro

My Sunset Hygro keeps melting. At least I think it is. The stems start to turn brown and clear from the bottom, but the leaves stay nice and green. I've Been Dosing Flourish and Excel. my GH is very low though, could that be the issue? I really want Sunset Hygro but it just never works out. TIA.

I've never heard of it melting. From the bottom up you say?

Can you give us some details on your tank (size, lighting, substrate and basic parameters).

I have also experienced this. And the funny part is in my 15 gallon high ADA AS II tank with DIY c02 and 46 watt total 6500 K compact lighting using 2 spiral bulbs in the canopy. In this tank usually anything and everything grows and I will often start cuttings of plants that I do not have enough of as they grow in the tank so rapidly. With the sunset hygro, I noticed that if it remains floating where it gets the highest light levels, it seems to grow a nice pink color and puts out lots of roots and side shoots. The problems with melting though happen when the stems are planted. This is puzzling since this plant is generally a very good low light tank with few demands.

I had some hygro and wisteria, and the also melted from the bottom. I've done so many things lately that I can't really narrow down what the change would be, maybe the excel? Its a 38 gallon cube tank so I def have concerns with light not penetrating the bottom, but I have some low growing lilies that are doing ok. My stem plants just like to melt from the bottom up. My ph is about 6.5 and my GH is very very low, but everything else seems fine. I have basic gravel and sand, nothing fancy. I have 48 W over the tank for about 8 hours a day, I cut it down from 12 because of algae.

I guess right now its kinda just being weird. I have some hygro floating, i might try to replant them this weekend. Thanks

I had a lot of problems with sunset hygro and excel for some reason. No other plant in the tank was affected.

I'm having the same problem in my 5 gallon hex. I don't dose Excel. Not sure what's causing it. Keeping up on dosing regular flourish seems to be slowing it down.
