That's a very nice piece of wood! I'm curious where you got that substrate and the wood.
This is going to be good

The substrate is GEX, I got it in vietnam, none over in the U.S that I'm aware of. The wood is from a fella in AZ. He sells wood here in the forum, not sure of his username though.

BTW I have a lot of plants I could sell you. 3 stems of Vallisneria americana for $5 (3 stems), 2 plants of cryptocoryne wenditii "tropica" for $4, 1 onion plant for $3, echinodorus tenellus (huge mass) for $6, 3 stems of water wisteria for $5, anubius nana for $2, and loads of java ferns (big to small) for varying prices for varying heights but probably between i'd say 3 to 7 dollars small to big. Just email me at themattmobile724@gmail.com if you are interested. Of course, you would have to pay for shipping to and I only do expedient shipping to insure live arrival of plants. I only accept paypal.

Thank you, Pumice rock is pretty much the same as powersand without the lil boost like the ADA have. I added bacter 100 / clear super to imitate powersand but didnt add the fert for plants like Apowersand have.

I might take you up on the Java fern / anubias Nana, gonna see if I can get some locally tho I'll let you know

Here's an update, got my moss and attach it to my wood along with bolbitis and narrow leaf java. Im thinking about taking the narrow and replacing with regular java though.

Looking good! This is for your future Mosuras..?!

I'm really interested about that substrate too, you must have picked it up personally from Vietnam. What's the cycle period and does it have similar pH lowering effects as ADA AS?

yup this will be for the mosuras =), still need to get a fan though, its 78 out there.

The cycle is a lil shorter from what I've been told, and PH should be around 6.5 or so. First time using it, I will do a water test in a couple hours and post it up.

Dxiong5
Just checked water parameter and it's 6.4 or 6.5 PH
No ammonia or nitrite suprisingly, and Nitrate is below 10 (maybe 7-8) I did add media from my old filter so and used bacter 100. The dust is already gone so no cloudy.

Added one of my low grade CRS to see how he react. His color actually got brighter! He was really dull in my snowball tank. He's currently walking around picking stuff on the gravel

It's been about 9-10 days? That's fairly quick for a cycle. The old filter media and bacter must have boosted the beneficial bacteria colonies. We'll see how that lone CRS does...
