ADA mini with no filter?

Is it recommended to run a planted nano without a filter, but with a little internal powerhead like a aquarium systems micro-jet 320 (73gph max). This is for ada mini-m and was wanting to keep it minimalist as possible. I have a HOB and a internal filter that will work, but looking for options and not sure If I want to get a canister. Will have co2 injection and 27 watt compact fluorescent light. Tell me what y'all think. Thanks!

You could do it that way - the key loss would be the extra size of the bacteria colony that a filter would afford you. I run a SW Reef tank in a Mini-M with just a powerhead - which is much more demanding and fragile than a FW planted tank.

Sounds like it may work. Anyone else have experience using just a little powerhead in a fw planted tank?

Thanks!
