Nano-Cube plans

Hi, I'm planning my new planted nano aquarium and could use some advice, this is what i'm planning

A Nano Cube (Built in filtration, 24 w lighting)
Medium-Hight light plants
6 Neons
Pair of Dwarf or Honey Gouramis
1 or 2 Dwarf Frogs
Shrimps
Maybe a crab
Snails
Thinking of using sand mixed with laterite or pure fluorite for substrate
Heater
One thing i'm not sure about is the lighting, I sure 24 w is not enough for a tank that size,so idont know what to do(By the way, i'm in the UK so we can't get some of the things you get in the US, like Hellolights, but i'd be happy if you new a site that ships lights internationally)

Thanks in advance

What type of plants do you want to grow? I've got a nancube myself, and while I'm not trying to grow any of the really high light plants, 24 watts is more than enough for java fern and moss, anubias and low to moderate lighting level plants. If you want to see some seriously modded out nanocubes, do a search on nano-reef.com. One guy had over 100 watts of lighting in one. There's also a pretty good bit of info on adding fans as well, which you'll probably need to do if you upgrade your lighting. The new deluxe nanocubes come stock with 48 watts of lighting and fans (aimed primarily at reef hobbyists, I suspect). Also, if you ditch the activated cabon from the back (something you should do anyway if you're trying to grow plants) you've got a nice well to put your heater in. My little bag of ceramic noodles is also doubling reasonably well as a CO2 bell for my DIY system.

If you have the JBJ 12G Nano cube with the 24 watts PC lighting this is plenty for this tank. I have the same tank and have grown a variety of plants with no problems.

On the livestock... I would cut back a bit, I would either go with the two Dwarf Guaramis or the 6 Neons, I would not put both together in a 12G tank. Then you still can add the Dwarf frogs, shrimp & snails to which fishs you choose.
