29g rcs/crs tank

Alright, I finally got it setup. I don't have pictures of the setup process, but here's the almost final product. I still need to do a few things like add java fern to some of the driftwood, and I'm going to put some flame moss on the slate. I'm thinking about making a moss wall for the background too, right now it's just a white poster board. Let me know what you think about it and if anything should be changed. I should be picking up some CRS either this week or next.

Specs:
29 gallon tank, a little old and scraped up, only downfall
eco-complete
eheim 2217
ah supply 2x36 W kit with 1x6700,1x10000K bulbs
5lb co2 tank w/ azoo regulator

Flora:
Blyxa Japonica
Dwarf Sagittaria
Echinodorus tenellus
Ludwigia Brevipes (behind slate, can't really see it yet)

Soon to come:
Flame moss
Java fern
Weeping moss wall?

Fauna:
Red cherry shrimp
Crystal Red shrimp (A-S grade soon)

Decent start. If I may make a suggestion or two. The "flat" like rock (I am assuming slate?) is a bit out of the ordinary here. I would remove and replace with something with a bit more character. the coloration of it and the "flatness" detract from the plants (in other words, my eyes go right to it, not the plants).

The driftwood has got some sick potential. Nice selection. Bring it in a bit, make it your focal point to build from. Bringing it to where the slate is now would almost be ideal IMO. Some nice tall stem plants behind would be a great presentation to it, or something tall like a giant hairgrass. Nestle it in, if you will.

Blyxa, sagitaria and tenellus is a brave choice. They are similar plants in scale, yet are very distinct once they take off. I would remove at least one of those species (the tenellus would be my choice, but that is preference), and make groupings of the others.

But hey, if you are happy, I am happy. Plants look very healthy!

I see your a shrimp lover, no fish? Maybe a few otos to keep the glass clean...

Alright thanks for the input, I'll try and move things around a little. I only have a few tall stem plants right now, which are Cryptocoryne spiralis, and Red Ludwigia. Do you think either of these will work? I might pick some otos up eventually too.

Quick question, is there a specific way to tell the difference between E. tenellus and the sagitaria because they're kinda mixed together and I don't know if I'll be taking the right ones out.

If you can't tell the difference, just wait it out. Let them grow in for a while. Sagitaria is usually taller and has a thicker blade leaf.

Crypts and ludwigia is a good start. Nothing wrong with them at all. Stick em in and see if you like them. If you don't like them, pull them out.

I will have some Rotala rotundifolia and some others you can have if you pay for shipping.

Remember, my suggestions are just that. Suggestions. Do what you like! This is your tank, not mine. Have fun!

If you want the plants shoot me a PM. Can send you a nice little package.

Alright, I've finally rearranged things a little bit and added a few more plants thanks to gmccreedy . I don't think I'm done moving stuff yet but it's a start, but I won't have much time to do anything else until next weekend. Let me know what you think now.
