I really want to go with UG for the foreground, but I might have to start with HC, as I can get it locally and cheap...

Just remember three things:
1. Use smaller leaved plants whenever possible. 2. Plant in a way so that your hardscape is the backbone of the scape and doesn't get overpowered. 3. Fill us in on every detail along the way. This is a great setup and I will enjoy watching it mature. Cheers--Stephen |

Thanks guys! The tank is underwater now, and the wood is weighed down and soaking, so it should be ready to be planted on friday. Other than my Rena's O-ring leaking and my shooting a few gallons of water on the floor in a fit of stupidity, everything is going smoothly
Buck: the 40br is fun because it has a great depth, it really allows you to think in 3 dimensions. It is a real shame it is so short though. The 50g is a bit taller, but has a plastic cross brace, and those things are a huge pet peeve of mine, so a 40br it is! Rountreesj: I think we are on the same page, that is what I'll try to do. Thanks.

It's alive! The plumbing is finally working!
Here is the complete set up, in the relative safety of my bathroom: ![]() I was having major problems with the stupid venturi I added to the reactor. If anyone is thinking of doing this, I had to reduce the hose down to 3/4 OD at the point of the venturi nozzle before it would work. Even then, it required a lot of playing with the depth of the nozzle, and still won't work until the reactor is nearly full of water. Here is a shot of the venturi in action, sucking CO2 bubbles out of the top of the reactor: ![]() I'm ready for plants, hopefully my shipment at the LFS will arrive soon!

NICE! Can't wait to see. My brother on aquaticplant bought plants from you last time when u were getting rid of ur tank. If you need any of them, just ask. I'll hook you up since last time the package was so generous.
