Seeking local sources for plants, Apistogramma and... maybe some blue angelfish? Hoping to learn of both private breeders and great fish stores in NYC area. I'm in South Bronx and my transport is the public sort.
My dad lives in Brooklyn and has been breeding angelfish for a long time. I would need to double check with him, but his stock tends to rotate across silver/blue, koi, pearl, and gold angelfish. Anything from baby, juvenile to adult and adult breeding pairs. PM me if you're interested! I think his latest is pearl x gold.

Robotponys Does anyone know where I can get 1 or 2 pure female endlers? The store in chinatown only had males (got 1) and Pacific's are hybrids. Or does anyone have an extra female or two I could buy?

If you're driving and can take a slight detour, I recommend you drive to Ramsey, NJ and visit FishTown USA on Rt. 17S. Just a few miles down from Rt. 17 and I-287 interchange at Mahwah, NJ.

One of our club members reported the owner, Evan, has begun stocking nano fish in greater numbers. His plant selection is always great. He gets in a lot of Tissue Culture plants too. A big shipment from Singapore came in today according to his Facebook page.

Watch out you don't get confused with a store in NY with the exact same name. Not a chain, but was a chain years ago.

Here's his Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Fishtown-US...22457/?fref=nf

I am not sure his store web page is active anymore. Don't know why, maybe Facebook gets more activity.

Charoozz520 Yup your best bet is Monster Aquarium, they also get their stock in on sundays so if you head there on Monday there should be plenty of new fish in. ADA soil are $40.00 for 9L from what I remember. Parking is free if you park in the mall across the street.

tune4jack Going to be in NYC this weekend for the holiday. We're driving from Boston.

Any stores open on Monday that I should visit? Looking for ADA Amazonia and for Oto Paraguay (aka Hypoptopomatinae sp. LG2?). Looking to pair up the one I was able to find in an LFS near here.

Charoozz520 Monster Aquarium just got some nice Apistos this weekend, they have Apisto agassizi double reds for $25 a pair and some Apisto Sunburst for $15 each.

What plants are you looking for? If you make a WTB list, I'm sure some local members might have what you are looking for.
