BruceF I have half a dozen dirt with sand tanks. This stuff is much easier to plant in.

You should try dirt capped with sand, it's so easy and painless!

oblongshrimp His post was almost 2 months ago and they probably restocked since then.

I rinsed mine beforehand just to be safe but it wasn't really dusty so you would likely be fine without the rinse.

but the website says they're sold out of black diamond sand. If you're willing to drive to Glenwood Springs the store there has some in stock.

Where did you see it was sold out? I was checked store availability of 20-40 and it said it was available.

sumer Awesome. I will try that today itself. Thanks.

BruceF You can buy play sand at home depot. I use that all the time. It is cheap. It is with the bags of cement in the store.

sumer Sorry to interrupt. But just asking- If you want just the common sand in your tank, where do you buy it from?
Back in India I'd go to some river and collect direct from the river. But Mountain rivers here has nice stones and not the sand. Will Home depot have it?

BruceF I just got a bag of this stuff. How do I need to treat it? Does it need to be rinsed or what?

oblongshrimp I bought three bags of the Black Beauty today from United Western Denver. If it works like I hope it will I will probably convert most my tanks over to it so I can more easily use tanks for Neos or Caridinas as the need arises instead of having to predetermine which one is which.
