Tvadna What part of the Dominican are you located? I have been there numerous times and have really enjoyed your country. I have been as far east as Samana but usually stay along the north coast. Curious to see if you have ever collected native fish because or what is native to the freshwater streams.

I also have planted tanks and have enjoyed the trial and error that is the challenge of growing them. Here is a planted 10gal I've got.

meppitech Welocome. Another guilty part y of starting out with a dark and light blue gravel mix with the terrestrial plants sold as aquatic ones at petsmart. I have never been to the dominican republic but i did make it to haiti as a teenager. I went as part of a mission trip that worked in orphanages. I saw a lot of things but the coast was the most beautiful sight i have ever seen (besides the face of my son). Plant on!

Greetings from the Dominican Republic

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and I am already learning so much from all of you! Very happy to be able to be a part of this community.

I have a 29g tank which originally started out with blue gravel and plastic plants and which I turned to a planted tank 18 months ago. Right now it's running with 4 cfl bulbs and DIY CO2. It is a little bit overstock, so I'm having some algae trouble with it, so I guess I have to o water changes more often.
