Nice looking tank! I know you mention dosing iron, are you dosing anything else? I would think you'd wanna be dosing a full ei regime.
Great to. See another tank in the cola area!

Jealous on how you're s. repens is carpeting lol..
whats your lighting? PAR? sure ferts./ dosing of iron is what red plants need, but intense light keeps the red plants 'sunburned' if that makes any sense to yuh!
Enjoying the black substrate opposed to the white pool sand.

I dont want the plants bent over but I like watching the leaves move. Otherwise, it is kind of boring to look at lol.
I guess you already have pretty good water movement with 2 filters and a powerhead though

|Steezy B||I've heard plants don't need sway; I was just getting a powerhead for increased water movement and no dead spots|

I was looking at the 425 myself. I have a 240 in my 12gal long tank which seems a bit weak for a 40b but the flow is restricted due to the shrimp screen I put on it.
Did you try pointing the powerhead straight across the tank instead of down at the plants? How did flow look then?

|Steezy B||Great tank! it's surprisingly clear for the amount of driftwood you have. I was thinking about buying that powerhead or the 425 for my 40B,, and was concerned about placement. Have you experimented with this?|

|dasob85||How would you say the flow is? Do you get alot of swaying plants? more specifically, do the rummynose like it? I'm trying to set up a 40b myself and plan on stocking with rummynose and otos. Thanks in advance!|

So I decided to change my substrate from pool filter sand to eco complete. Added 4 bags at 80 pounds. Gave about 2 1/2 inches .Altogether it took me about 3 hours or so. While everything was out did some rescaping and trimming as well.
