Cost in Detroit of wattage .149 kWh. Two 48" T8 bulbs = 64w. On aprox 8hrs. So cost per day is 1.92 xs 52 weeks = $62. Might be cheaper in the long run to get T5 light strip or LED light strip.

You can with no adjustments replace T12 with T8s.

Before you do check out the cost of lights for it.

I have found aquatraders to be a good source of lights. In fact I am going to get a Beamworks EVO from them.

BulletToothBoris Wow thanks. It wasn't really intended to "look cool". It's just a grow tank for my up coming 45 long.

GuppyGuppyGuppyGuppyGuppy My intended $5 5 gallon is 5 times as expensive as that and 5 times less innovative and cool-looking.

Such creativity. ^_^

BulletToothBoris I bought the DHG before I knew it requires injected CO2. It's a lost cause because I'm not doing CO2.

parrottbay Co2 will get that DHG to grow...

Added a PetCo java moss vine...

$2 can't beat it.
