Mr. Limpet Took a trip out to Shark Aquarium in Hillside NJ to pick up some Dicrossus maculatus. I'd never been there before & I was very impressed by the selection & prices. The D. maculatus turned out to be D. filamentosus, which I couldn't use, but they had both sexes, looked very healthy & were $6.99 ea. Other interesting species were 8-banded barbs, nice fat espei rasboras, Anomalochromis thomasi at 3 for $12.00 & male & female wild type dwarf gouramis for $3.99 ea. They also had several species of Apistogramma. I picked up a trio of Apistogramma panduro for $15.00, so my trip wasn't a complete waste of time!

If anyone on this forum visits Fishtown USA in Queens on a regular basis, periodic updates of their stock would be greatly appreciated.

Ever make trips to NJ? I know a spot that has about 10 different types of apistos. They can do pairs as well. In case anyone is interested, Fish Hut in Saddle Brook on Rt 46. For the record, I've always gotten healthy stock from there.

someoldguy That's OK , I missed the GBR's . If you get there again , check the center aisle in the back , on the right . CPD 's ( might have listed them as galaxy rasboras) were pretty small , not really colored up when I was there.

I was there too but didn't catch the chilis or CPDs. They also have GBRs

That is so true! Several years ago I bought two small Lyretail Checkerboard Cichlid (Dicrossus filamentosus). One died about a week after I bought them. The other lived for about two years. I loved that little fish and wish I could have found him a mate.
