thelub I was just doing some research on this same subject and Hygrophila polysperma is a federally restricted noxious weed and cannot be knowingly sold across state lines.

Here are a couple good pages to read on the subject:

keithy Axel,
thanks for the quick answer. Will check when I have time.

Axelrodi202 Not sure, but given how they seem to be commonly sold online I wouldn't think so. Would be a good idea to double check that though.

Axel,
what about the other hygro sp., say augustifolia or corymbosa? are those subjected to the same laws?

Axelrodi202 Sunset hygro is a variation of Hygrophila polysperma, so any variety of the plant would probably be subject to the same laws.

Do you happen to know if this apply to sunset hygro only or just any hygro in general?

Mr. Limpet I think it is illegal to transport it across state lines. Within the state should be OK.
