GH/KH levels??

I just got a GH/KH api liquid test kit. The GH was 7 drops and the KH was 3.
What are the levels suppose to be in order not to kill inverts? how would I fix any problems related to GH/KH?

Sorry if this has already been posted before but I couldn't find anything that was clear on here when I searched and google was not helpful :/
