Blackheart Nice score. Wish I had enough room for a gigantic tank like that. I'd love to have a 125.

mrpixel Picked up a 90G with stand, canopy and 2 different lights (T8 and T5) for $125. I need to touch up the stand with some more stain, but it's still in good condition. Now I have to clean the apartment to find more room to put it.

Maechael Pixel yeah, I have tried both. Honestly thinking about just tripling my WC regimens for my tanks since I seem to be having issues.

Blackheart I'm planning to possibly take a ride out to the Petco in Utica on Hall road. They have a tremendous section of plants.

I also was looking at Meijers recently and saw some fish marked "White Fin Rosy Tetra," quite a unique looking fish/tetra. I might have to pick some up once my tank is cycled. Not from Meijers though.

mrpixel Had two fatal jumpers within the a week of each other. One was a Lamp Eye in my 20G and another was an Oto in my Bow front 25. The bow doesn't have a canopy, but the 20 has a glass canopy that only had a 2 inch opening in the front where a return pipe was holding it up.

mrpixel Do you use a syringe and just squirt it on the bba or do you just dump it in the tank?

Maechael Hydrogen peroxide has yet to affect my snails, of any variety.
but I spot treat, then water change anyways.

mrpixel I haven't tried h202 because I have MTS in that tank and I also have lamp eye tetras that are courting and I don't want to disturb them from potentially spawning. I've scraped all that purple algae off the glass on that yesterday, but now it looks like their is potential ick on some of the black neons. I don't know why this tank is suck a problem child.

Maechael Pixel, have you tried h202 on the algae with filters off?

Blackheart Not really sure how to check even if it is!

Lucky that that worked in your favor. I should try out C02 sometime. For the mean time, I'm trying to keep my tank as low-tech and low maintenance as possible.

mrpixel BLackheart.

Maybe the beneficial bacteria will still be alive when you put it in the new tank.

Whelp. I had my failure of an internal/external power head. I have one on my fluidized sand bed filter and the motor just started getting really hot and not spinning the impeller. It was some Chinese brand powerhead that I got used from a bulk purchase of equipment from a guy in New Mexico. It had the needle wheel though, and I was using that part to chop up the Co2 coming in the intake before passing it through the sand bed and back into the tank.
I went to petsmart and than petco, and I found the petco branded one to be an identical model except for the needle wheel and it was only $20 225GPH.
I got it home and the needle wheel from the old one was a perfect fit. I was super excited about that. Re-plumbed everything and it's quieter than the old one.

Oh, and the Oto that I stuck in that tank is still alive, so I'm not sure why the previous two died.
Still haven't identified the algae yet, and I've been cranking the co2 into that tank to kill the bb algae that showed up on my anubia and it seems like both the bba and whatever this other algae is, are growing faster with the extra Co2.
I'm thinking I need to play around with the photo period on that tank to see if lowering it will net any positive results.

Blackheart Of course

When I used to use brand new eco complete it seemed like my tank would cycle really quickly. Almost right away. Not sure if it worked or not now though as I had my eco in a previous tank.

Maechael Welcome back plant keeper been a long time,

Blackheart, plants provide a decent amount of biological surface area for beneficial bacteria growth.
Also, they look pretty darn good too!

Boss tossed me a windelov java fern the other day, nice day.

Thank you sir Haven't planted it yet though and it's still cycling. Waiting a bit to plant it.

Also that's my dad's guitar, not mine. I'm not musically inclined at all.

We actually bought it at Walmart for pretty cheap and it's actually really nice and comfy for being under 200 dollars. And yeah I really like that idea
