Right now I'm using it in a box. Or rather, not using it in a box. Tank came in to the store yesterday, now I just need to find time to go get it, and a pair of hands willing to help carry it in.

jmelnek I am running a 96w compact coralife fixture over my 46g bowfront. I can grow any moss/java fern/crypt with ease. Swords grow great along with any medium light demanding plant. Reds are tough to bring out with only 2wpg, but maintainence is easy.

Canoe2Can Doesn't seem that many folks have experience with the Nova. I bought one about a month ago, and I like it. It seems well constructed, good features. But I haven't used it over a tank yet. I'm still getting that part of the equation together.

I bought mine from Foster & Smith, good price. As for the bulbs, I went with 2 x 6.7K and 2 x 10K. It looks alright, but I wanted to go with the 10K and 2 Planta tubes. If you can find those, I've heard nothing but good about them.

riverrat IMHO both of these setups would be high light. I have never heard anything bad about either of companys. Maybe if you don't mind building a canopy for the tank you could check out www.ahsupply.com and make something custom.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Hang in there because I know there are a few 46 bowfront people that participate in this forum with nice tanks. I am sure they will have input when they see your post.

Is this a good setup?

I'm looking at buying the Nova extreme t5 w/ lunar lights.I want to get the 36 inch w/ four 39watt bulbs for my 46gal bow front.I'm planning on swapping out the bulbs for four 6700K bulbs or two 6700k bulbs and two 10,000k bulbs. This would put @ about 3.4 wpg..i'm looking for opinions on this..has anybody had good experience w/ this fixture..would i even use the lunar light too...??I dont want to go w/ the coralife aqualight double because that would put me @ 4.1 wpg.I"m not really looking for a high light tank. What do you guys think?I've also been thinking about getting the oceanic power compact fixture w/ two 55 watt bulbs for 110 watts which would be about 2.4 wpg...what do you guys think? Thanks
