metallicanick78 I bent mine differently, only to gain an inch or 2 like I said. I dident want to raise it too much because I do have HC growing in there. Ill have to post a pic of mine here.

For a while I've been thinking of a way to raise my lights a bit. I have two of the 36inch odysseas over a 45G. My best idea so far was to use a shelf mounting set-up and rest the lights on some 16 inch shelf brackets.

I'm embarrassed to admit that it never occurred to me to just bend the brackets, I'm glad I haven't bought that shelf stuff yet.

Thanks!

Here is a pic of how it looks with arms bent. Also a pic of how my tank has grown in now. I like this light. Sorry about the picture quality I took them with phone.

Tank Man Right now I have the 4 bulb 36 inch fixture, I did not like how much space I have on each side of the light but I never thought of bending the arms, maybe that will help reach everywhere.

metallicanick78 love mine. I have the 2 bulb fixture on 4 of my 40B tanks and It grows everything I put in there, even HC. Grows fine all over, but to the eye, it looks a little dim in the very front and back, by the glass. I wish the fixtures were a little wider. if you were looking for that much light, youd be better off with 2x 2bulb fixtures so you could space them out a bit. I ended up bending the mounting brackets so that it is an inch or 2 higher which helped spread the light better.

There's a par chart somewhere with them on it.

They're not as bad as everyone makes them out to be

Over lighting with Odyssea = normal lighting?

From every review I hear Odyssea lights are never really as strong as they say. But if I were to over light my 55g tank with them would that equal out to proper lighting?

Specifically these : http://www.aquatraders.com/48-inch-4...re-p/52305.htm
