AJ12 The tank is being revamped from an old layout that i inherited. The old setup had two 6' VHO's on it and is built into the wall.

Notice the blue retangular box that reads View Estimated Performance Charts & Report click that to view chromaticity. Also ask the person that started that thread what she thinks of them now after a month or so.
You do understand when you couple very high CRI with Kelvin temperature in this range 0f 5500-5900K as you can with this diy approach you can achieve a virtually white light.

csf What are you using now? Do you have lights now you're trying to replace or other tanks that will be near this one?

5700k looks blue to some, yellow to others. 6700 looks white-bluish to all, unless you keep salt water.

If you keep the ratio at 50/50, you'll be around 6200K average, more blues and you'll be more blue. It's a preference.

I've had 5700Ks and thought they were blue, then swapped to 6700K and thought they were blue. Then added some 7800Ks and they were really blue (too much). Settled for a 50/50 mix of the 5500/5700K and 6700/6800K compact floros when I had a 4x55W AH Supply setup.

LED help for a 150g

Im aware there are a few threads out there that may be similar. Im trying to figure out the best LED units to put on my tank. A friend of mine suggested to go to I like the idea of choosing the spectrum, but i could use some advice. I based my choices off of the websites plant LED, but with a few changes. I added two cyan and bumped up most of the 5700k to 6500k, keeping only two 5700k. My fear is that the lights will look very yellow on the tank (which is why i changed many of the 5700ks). Can anyone way in on this? I'm open to suggestions. This would be for a 150 gallon tank (72"x18"x28") and im planning on putting four 36" units. Nothing has been ordered yet, and if any one can chime in on the quality of this companies lighting im also very interested in hearing about that too. Thanks in advance, Alex
