crazydaz Oh, cool!! A fellow Nashvillian!!

Tank looks pretty good, and is coming along very well!

One foreground option you could try is to get some "true" Dwarf Sag from AaronT....that's a really cool plant, and is an excellent foreground choice.

Nice set up!

Zolek Little over a month later. Made a few mistakes, but recovered from them and now back on track. The front micro sword and hair grass never took off so I'm trying dwarf sag now. I also added some green crypts yesterday to round out the colors.

Back corner Vals almost totally melted during my "oopsie" so it is going to take a while to grow back.

Zolek Yesterday I noticed some (very few) white spots on my female German Ram's tail. I'm assuming she has been an asymptomatic carrier until now. After Careful inspection I see one small white spot on a cardinal tetra fin, 3-4 white spots on the female's tail, and 0-1 white spots on a male ram fin. I'm glad I caught this really early since it lets me use more gentle treatments.

I dosed Kordon Ich-Attack at 200% yesterday and added 1 teaspoon salt / 10 gallons. This morning I did a 100% Ich-Attack dose and plan to do 100% every morning and evening. Raising Temp from 77.5 to 81 to speed the life cycle. I don't think my heater has enough oomph to get the tank to 86 and the cories wouldn't like it anyways....

Day 1: (this morning) I don't see any more white spots than yesterday. The cardinal's fin actually looks better with the spot being less pronounced. Fish health is still A+ I see no signs of listlessness etc other than the female ram being as thin/poorly colored as always.

Zolek These legs on the side slide in really snugly to the grooves. Other than that it is just resting there. The ray 2 comes with a removable foot for the inside of the rim + plastic screws on the outside (you can see the screw holes on the side of the feet), but they DON'T fit over the rim of my tank. My tank's rim is 5/8 and they come up just barely short.

Between the middle brace and sticks coming out of the water I think this setup is fine, also it allows me to slide the light forward/backwards really easily during maintenance. You've inspired me to go ask in the Finnex subforum if they have bigger mounts though =p. Shouldn't interfere with a glass top.

shiloh Looking good! I've got the same size tank and I've ordered the Ray II. Can you post a picture of how the fixture attaches to the rim? I'm curious if it will interfere with a glass top.

I added 10 Corydoras Habrosus, and the Ozelot sword in back is growing at a rate that can only be described as frightening. I moved the hairgrass over and added some micro sword to take a "see what sticks" approach to carpet plants. The single tiny dwarf sag plant I was shipped by mistake has some runners too. I also added a simple black cloth background.

2x Koralia Nano 425s have turned the front of the tank into a bit of a whirlwind, but it is keeping it looking super clean.

Zolek My anubias Rhizomes are melting, which has me very confused as anubias are super hard to kill...not sure what to do. After stripping the sword plant of its emersed leaves it has totally shut down too. Wonder if I screwed the pooch here as things were progressing well.

Crypts are still doing fine and putting out new leaves....

Is it possible the superglue is melting the anubias rhizomes?

Zolek I moved the Sword to it's permanent location and removed all the emersed leaves. Most of the crypts have finished shedding leaves that didn't handle shipping well and I see tons of new leaves growing in (crypts so sloooow).

Belem Hairgrass
Blyxa Japonica
Dwarf Sagittaria

Pair of German Rams (female still isn't eating, getting a little worried)
The world's lonliest Cardinal Tetra (he was alone in the store too, I'll get more as soon as they have more and I think he is better off being lonely here)

Zolek First major planting!

Cryptocoryne Wendtii
Cryptocoryne Becketii
Cryptocoryne Dewitt
Cryptocoryne Parva

Anubias Barteri
Anubias Nana
Anubias Petite

Also my val which was previously only melting has a nice sized runner coming in now, and the sword plant, which still needs to be moved, is pearling near the end of the 5hr 15min photoperiod. Still having trouble deciding on fish, especially cardinals vs rummynose.

GMYukonon24s Nice hardscape. I like the wood.

Zolek's 40B

Moved to Nashville, TN a few months ago and now its time to have a fish tank!

Tank: 40 Breeder from the local place (Aquatic Critter)

Lights: Finnex Ray 2 36 inch. Currently not elevated (might need to raise it 1-2 inches at some point to even the light spread out a little)

Filter: Eheim 3e 2078. Its making natural sand dunes on the opposite side of the tank right now..

Ferts: Basic EI. 1/2 Tsp KNO3 + 1/8 Tsp K2SO4 M-W-F, 1/8 Trace T-Th-Sat. 50% Water Change Sun.

CO2: 10 LB tank, regulator, inline reactor.

The tank is currently cycling with a couple of token plants (some jungle vals and a rose sword). I'm planning a low maintenance plant set heavy on anubias species and cryptocorines. Also going to give Belem hairgrass a try as a carpet - I think it would look amazing creeping between these rocks. I'd like to do some sort of moss in the trees, but haven't ordered any yet. The sword is doing great, although it obviously can't stay in that spot. The jungle val however is just melting, I'm hoping its just acclimating. Water here is 4dkh and a perfect 7.0 PH.

Planned stocking is a pair of german rams and a school of some sort of dwarf catfish. I'd like Aspidoras Pauciradiatus, but sourcing them is proving problematic and I may have to settle for Corydoras Habrosus. Haven't decided on any other fish stock so suggestions here are welcome - cardinals and rummynose are things I'm considering, or maybe coral pencilfish. Some sort of oto or a farowella is going to happen too. First set of plants is coming in on Monday so I'm going to try to lock the aquascape down before then - I'm not entirely happy with the tree placement right now, particularly the tree behind the center one.

This is how it looked on 12/28/2012:
