NCSteve Well it's been almost a year so I thought I would update my journal. I've made lots of changes. Added an s repens carpet, a nice bush of rotala, and recently added some Rotala wallichi and ar mini. I also upgraded the lighting by adding a Finnex planted + along with the old Marineland double bright.

NCSteve Update after rescaping. I'm still not happy with the background. I've added s repens in the foreground, some sunset hygro which grows like a weed [emoji13] and a fefew stems of ludwigia sp red.

pewpewkittah Wow! Your tank has grown in nicely and looks great!

As far as the rescape - I think its due for a nice trim. You may choose were the plants look best, I would personally swap the two plants in the back left.
It would look really neat and add a lot of depth if you add like an open area(like a break in the foliage) in the back; looks like you've already achieved this, but develop it a little more!

Overall, I think it looks lush and almost dutch-ish! Nice job!

NCSteve Update before a major trim. I know the scape is a mess but I've finally got everything balanced and my plants are growing well and algae is down to a minimum. I really need to do a rescape and have been looking at other tank journals trying to get some inspiration. Any suggestions are welcome

The Trigger Looks great!

NCSteve Thanks. I'm just using pps pro ferts, modified slightly and iron. Doing nothing special for the anubias. It's just doing its thing on the driftwood.

Chafire Tank looks good Steve! Plants all look really healthy. That's awesome that your anubias flowered. Do you use any kind of root supplement or just sticking to the EI method?

NCSteve Sorry. I was trying to get the pics right side up

NCSteve I've added a SunSun 403 cannister filter and upgraded the Co2 to a 5 lb bottle. The regulator seems to perform much better since ditching the paintball tanks.

Plants added: Lobelia cardinalis dwarf and Rotala Mexicana arguaia

My Anubias finally flowered for me!

NCSteve Here's an update on my tank....the Blyxa is turning into a jungle but I've just acquired a 29g tall that will get lots of it when I start setting it up. I've added Limnophila aromactica, purple cabomba and ludwigia Atlantis to the background. I've got a bunch of crypts in the middle that will also go into the 29 and my erios is getting huge. I'll do a rescape on this tank once I get the 29 up and running so I can clear out some plants. I started using dry ferts about 2 months ago and still getting that balanced but I think I'm close. I have a little algae here and there but keeping it at bay for now. Thanks for looking...
