What kind of growth rate are the anubias petite doing? I always heard you got fast (relative to anubias) growth above water. I never got to try it properly, but it'd be a great way to grow out enough for a tank. Hmm..

The glass is seriously scratched up. The one plus of Cell ph. pics...no detail.

|Phil Edwards||It's almost a shame to make that into a dome.|

I've wanted to upgrade the humidity "dome" for a while now. The plastic tub was not permitting enough lighted foot print. It worked good enough for the Anubias but, was hindering potential.
I was dumpster diving and found an old 55g tank. That apparently was holding reptiles. Old in having 3/8" glass, as I quickly realized when I lifted the beast up.
I'm still developing my glass cutting skills. Free aquariums are a great source of practice glass. I managed to destroy both side panes and the bottom by time I got to the rear pane. There is definitely a higher skill set needed to cut thicker glass. I will say my glue-up skills are getting better.
There I was relatively successful. What the pc might not show is years of scratches. Though for a min. I did think 30x18x10 would make a neat little tank since I did still have the front glass.
But that just inspired me to keep the 48x20" front pc. and maybe pick up a new 55g from Petco next time $ per ga. comes along.

My GF is a Raw Vegan, for health reasons NOT political reasons. I've only had one ridiculous comment on my YouTube video, some silliness about "enslaving my Goldfish ". I just deleted and move on.
I feel the best one can do when confronted with emotional, romantic arguments is to stay factual and reality based. Every life form on this planet eventually is food for another life form, that not good or bad, it just is what it is.
It may be near impossible to eat 100% vegan in the purest form. Even if he only eats hydroponically grow veggies, odds are strong that ferts are in some % animal or bi-product based. Fish emulsion is a common hydroponic fert additive.
The FDA does allow for some refined chemicals to be used in the production of "Organic" food. So, it may not be as Organic as one might think.
Plants just don't care where the nitrogen comes from

How have the vegans you know reacted to using fish and (partly) animal-derived fish foods as part of this system? My brother's vegan and would frown on the use of animal-derived products in growing food. He may be on the more extreme side of it though. I'd love to know more if you have extra opinions to share.

|chad320||Nice to hear (and nice to be back). You have the perfect experimental attitude for the crypts set up. I keep hoping someones going make some of these easier to propagate|
