So guess what I noticed yesterday?...the fem is berried again.
So if this is like last time, the gestation should last somewhere around 6 weeks.

|Soothing Shrimp||Just five right now, but hey- they stayed hidden so long I thought there were none! It's possible I have more. heh|

|Duck5003||Any more baby sightings??|

|Soothing Shrimp||I didn't think about that, but makes a lot of sense.|

They certainly look closer to crays than shrimp to me
I figure the natural selection that gave them those claws and the desire to be predatory, was probably similar to what crayfish underwent.

|Soothing Shrimp||Thanks Clemsons2k. I think they may act a lot like crays, but without the plant eating.|

|Clemsons2k||Yea the cray that I caught and kept did the same thing. I supplied him with some pieces of slate to create a burrow under. He made a really neat cave!|

Well, apparently I spoke too soon!
After weeks of not seeing any babies, today I see 5 babies in the tank!
They are about the size of half grown cherries. I tried to get some pics, but everything is blurry so far.
Something interesting to note, although I have pvc in the tank, the male has chosen to dig out a burrow under the hair algae (that I've used instead of moss). Don't crays do this, too?

|Soothing Shrimp||We'll see. So far no shrimp are berried again or otherwise.|

|GreenBliss||Sorry to hear about that. Maybe next time.|

|Soothing Shrimp||After 6 weeks she went into hiding for about 3-4 days and came out not berried anymore. Never saw any shrimplets.|

|GreenBliss||Did she ever deliver? I'm curious to see what happened.|
|03-05-2013 02:45 AM|
|Soothing Shrimp||Wow! Now THAT is a long time!|

|mordalphus||Lol, that's not that long. When my first tt x bkk hybrids got berried it was 3 months.|
