|plebe86||I have the one on the bottom with a 10k and 65k t5 and my plants are doing really good. I had to 10k lights before and all I got was algae. I been having this light for about 8 months and I haven't had any issues with it.|

|unicknn||Im probably going to be going with an Odyssea 36" fixture on mine. For a 4 bulb T5HO its only $80 for anormal and %100 for a delux. I know its not gonna be the best quality but it'll get me started. Im thinking its gonna be too much light though so Im only gonna use 3 of the 4 bulbs to start. Might look into them but from the reviews Ive read, you get what you pay for. I just dont have the money to buy a nice fancy $400 job after buying a filter, and CO2 system. Im still gonna need fish, plants and a bunch of other randoms as well.|

Ok so that means I should take it back and try again? It won't grow plants? The plants I have are going to die? Does this put out less light than a T12 shop light? I really am getting frustrated! I have to have a 36 in fixture as 48 in is too long for the tank, but that also means the wattage is lowered from 54w/bulb to 39w/bulb of T5 HO.
I spent close to 400.00 on the aquatic life fixture, and I don't have the finances to buy the 36 inch version anymore. Can someone offer some reasonably priced options?

|Hoppy||The Coralife light will barely give you low light, and the LED light adds a little to that.|

Will this light work? Down grading.........
So after alot of thought and quite frankly SEVERE frustration, I am down grading my light fixture. Current I have the:
Aquatic Life 48" 4-Lamp 4 x 54W T5 HO Light Fixture
I love the idea of this fixture, but at 48" it was too long for the tank and consequently it sat directly on the frame of the tank, over hanging several inches on each end. I also had a constant battle with algae, no matter how many bulbs operated and whether or not I ran CO2 and EI dry ferts. So I am getting ready to reset my tank and have found a different fixture. Here is what I have found and hope will work:
Coralife Aqualight T5HO Dual Lamp Fixture
Comes with 10,000K Daylight Bulb and
I also purchased a
Marineland® Hidden LED Lighting System with
.06 watt 6,500K White LEDs & 460nm Blue Actinic LEDs.
I really bought the LED's because it has moon lights, which my 48 in fixture has and I enjoy.
My tank dimensions are:
48"LX22"WX25"H- Its a CORNER BOW FRONT
The coralife fixture sits on feet approx 2-3 inches above the tank. Is this new fixture sufficient? Is there enough PAR?
This is the tank with the new fixture up and running along with the LED light bar on.
