it is exactly your tank i have an evolve also. the stock light is good.. in the spot it lights. if i could have 2 of them, i think i'd be in good shape.. but apperantly they do not sell just the light!

seuadr i really like that fugeray. would you consider your tank more "high" light than medium? i'm not sure that i want to have to dose co2 in the tank, so i'm wondering if i would need to raise the light for my set up as i have taller stem plants.

thoughts?

PRSRocker3390 Sorry all, I've been busy lately with life but also planning another tank, my new ADA 45-P. I did wind up going with blyxa in the background now. I will post pics up here ASAP, I think you all will love it.

All this growth is with no co2, just excel? looks very healthy
I finally decided on some blyxa for the background and I love it! Only excel and some really bad DIY co2, I hardly change that mixture at all. I'm eventually thinking of putting on pressurized co2 but I'm also thinking of not doing it. Why mess with something that is working perfect. I think I may just stick with the excel/DIY as I think about it. Maybe even try excel only.

I only have two amano shrimp in here with some boraras species (I really need to ID them correctly). I want a shrimp species but not sure about which yet. I'm considering CRS but I may not add shrimp until I get this new 45-P project underway.

Yeah the HC needs to be trimmed at least once every two weeks if not sooner before it gets too thick and I worry about the underneath not getting enough light. The light is perfect for the tank, I wouldn't use anything else.

I did end up using Blyxa and it does look great. Pics will be up really soon!

Thanks a bunch for the compliments, I can't wait to show what it looks like now. The fugeray is a really nice light. Enjoy your new tank, I'm sure it will come out great.

What are you using for fert dosing? Saw that you mentioned using dry ferts just wondering exactly hoe you did it.

Thanks!
I made some solutions up using dry fertilizers and distilled water. I have a solution for KNO3, KH2PO4, and Plantex CSM+B. I might does them once in a while when I remember, only a couple times a month. With aquasoil, I havent really had to does much for fertilizers. I usually just dose after a water change mainly.

BTW, I had purchased an Evolve 8 and mine leaked in I think the same spot as yours did. But mine leaked when I was water testing it, so I packed it back up and returned it right away.

Yeah, the fugeray is neat little fixture and for the price, I couldn't beat it.

I will be posting new pics up ASAP guys!

PRSRocker3390 Hairgrass was removed and sold, it just wasn't tall enough for me. I want something else in there but don't know what to do. Any ideas? Right now, the front half is still a carpet of HC.
