|fusiongt||People tend to like to just plop pieces of driftwood on the substrate. I've never seen a tree roots just touch the bottom of a surface and not go in it, so that would be my only gripe. You could grow plants to cover where the driftwood touches the substrate or use your index finger and push the piece of wood down a few CM's and it'll look more natural.|

Move the rocks on the left over with driftwood like you had it before. So everything is toward the right.
Either lose the dip or do a small dip under the driftwood arch.

|Jim_PA||The more I look at the wood being moved, I don't like it.|

I did not move the rocks on the left yet, as I wanted to make sure everyone thought the wood being moved over looked OK? That as far as I can move it to the right.
Please let me know thoughts ASAP, plants will be here in the morning. I need to get this right, cannot be moving it around and moving plants all around this time, or going to have to hear about it again from the wife.

I agree w/ moving everything to the right.
I'd leave the dip as I don't know how visible it will be after all the plants go in.

Not sure if this helps with feed back as if I should really move everything over or not, but here the plants I will be getting this week. It more than I will need with the swords, but I know someone that will buy them from me if I don't use them so not worried, wanted to have more than not enough.
Rosette Sword Plant 6
Red Melon Sword 2
Uruguayensis Sword 5
Amazon Swords 5
Tiger Lotus red 2
Anubias, Barteri Broad Leaf 5
Dwarf Sagittaria 150
Vallisneria spiralis 150

Not sure I am sold on the dip. I don't think it will be noticable overtime, once it planted. I cannot go down anymore, with the amount of sand I have, as I would risk hitting the dirt, which I don't want to do. With sand being 20 bags a pop, that really not in the budget to add more.
So drop the dip or leave it?
Going to move everything over to the right tonight, and if I keep the dip, depending on feedback, I like to keep in the middle, to much work to move, and with plants going to be here in a day, don't really have time, other than to just do away with it.

|thesawguy||I think I agree with sliding everything over but I'd lose the dip entirely.|

Move the dip with the hardscape. Perhaps leave that whole area under the wood void when you stock plants; plant heavily around the driftwood, and left of the tank. That way you're playing with two dynamics for your contrast; closed / tall vs open hardscape, and whatever feeling of the tank, plus a "mysterious" or "dark" cave.
As for the layout itself, I like it. Very minimalistic, looks natural enough. Well done. Also that's a very nice piece of wood.

|Jim_PA||Anyone else before I make the change? Need to get finished up before plants get here soon.|

Still leave the dip in sand where it at?

|DogFish||Jim - I do like it BUT, (there's always a butt). I would just slide the whole hardscape to the right so the top of the driftwood blocks the right intake from view. This will give a larger open area on the left which I feel will make for an interesting scape due to contrast in height/openness.|

Aquascape Feed Back
Now that my tank back in the house, I have it in a room that close to a window, yes I am sure this going to give me some problems, but deal with that later as this my only option.
Anyway, since wife has me on budget, I could not get new lava rocks I wanted, so using old rocks from when I had tank setup. Though I removed most of them.
I like rock placement.
I like the wood placement.
Would like to know what others think.
I am not sold on the dip in the middle, also the sand dose slop from front to the back, but not easy to see in this picture, looking at it from side you can tell for sure.
I have very limited time to make any changes as needs to be done on my own time, which after 9pm. ha and before Thur as that when my plants will be here.
Also cannot see left overflow very much or that side of the tank. It sunny here today. ha ha
