|li_gangyi||Sounds like it's the thermostat cycling to me. Did it use to do this or is this sound something new?|

|Public Alias||My heater did that a lot when I first got it a year ago. It would tick constantly. I was initially very worried, but I just ignored it, and now it doesn't do it anymore, maybe it just had to be "broken in"|

|shinycard255||My other heaters make the clicking sound when turning on or off, but this heater makes the clicking sound throughout the whole time the heater is on with a few seconds in between each click. I can hear it across the room when I'm on my computer|

Some will make a small click sound but not a loud popping noise.
The small click noise is probably the electrical relay turning on.

Heater makes popping sound
Whenever the heater in my 5.5G tank turns on, it seems to make this popping or ticking sound. Should I be in search of a new heater here shortly?
It's a PetCo brand heater if anyone cares to know. Not sure how long I've had it, but at least a year, if not longer
