wicca27 one female has all gold colored eggs well all the females in that 5 gal in my room and the female in my computer room has all red eggs. they all came from the same person at the same time i started with about a dozen i think. i left a few babies in the tank in the computer room and never moved them when they got big enough to catch. im just not sure y the ones in the computer room are red and all the females in the bedroom are gold colored eggs they all have the same genes. so who know just was wondering if that is normal and do most crs have red eggs or do they tend to have gold?

ravensgate So you're not saying they are CRS with several colored eggs in one clutch you are saying the whole clutch is a different color than what you are used to seeing? Cause I've been reading this the whole time like only a few of the eggs were golden colored. Oops.

ravensgate It's normal for CRS to have red eggs regardless of red legs or not.

wicca27 yeah my neos eggs change color closer to hatching but for the eggs to be totally different color it has me wondering. i dont thing they are unfertilized cause i get babies in both tanks. its not like some eggs are different its all the females in one tank have one color eggs and all the females in another tank had different colored eggs. i guess crs can be like neo's and had different color eggs. the only thing i have noticed is that the one with red eggs also has red leggs where as the shrimp in the other tank dont have red leggs and have gold colored eggs so who knows

I know with CPOs that they have dark green eggs but you occasionally find some that are bright orange. The bright orange ones are not fertilized and are eventually dropped. Haven't heard of it with shrimp but who knows.

Soothing Shrimp Does anyone find the eggs change color closer to hatching?

The BV starts yellowish and then turns red when closer to hatching for instance.

ravensgate That F1 is so cool!

I did find one thread where Mordalphus said blue eggs = BKK when it comes to hybrid eggs

Still can't find the thread I'm thinking of though. Dangit.

Fdsh5 I have a CRS that is berried right now and the eggs appear black. Like previously posted, once they're born, you know their color for sure. I was scared too the first time one of my yellows had dark eggs. All kiddos were yellow though.

GeToChKn Tb usually take longer to mature to birth, so I would assume with mischlings that have the potential to have a TB, you will see a few eggs stick out as being different colored than the rest, when they may or not be different colored but just maturing slower, so when the eggs that are going to be normal CRS/CBS/Golden or other mischlings start to go clear and the eyes form, the eggs that will be a WR/Panda/BB, etc are still going to appear dark and thus stand out. I don't think it's really different colored egg's as much as a slower maturation people see with hybrids, so if you are keeping TB/CRS hybrids and see a few eggs that appear different color, they are going to be TB but I don't think it's "special colored eggs", just a slower egg development.

As to the OP, and as said, it usually doesn't mean anything. I've had Fire reds with yellow, green and even black eggs and they all gave black fire red babies. I've had my caridina's have orangish or even bright red eggs. Here is one of my goldens with bright red eggs. She just have off golden/snow, and crs babies. Nothing special.

Not talking about Tibees, talking about Taiwan Bees. Tibee= Tiger Bee
