ngrubich I've used frozen and LFS live blackworms for the past couple years: my discus are particular to the live version. I know that I can order them online, but I am particularly looking for something local as I won't be home for a few weeks and I am having my neighbor take care of my discus tank. My LFS is good with their blackworms, it's just that they are constantly out, so I was just looking for alternative locations around Charlotte.

That would be he safest approach. I tried LFS blackworms some months back and ended up losing fish to bloating and bacterial issues. Blackworms can live in the fridge for a while, but need water changes and they lose nutrition over time. It's really difficult to judge how a LFS handles something like blackworms. I remember getting one portion that smelled horrible when I opened it up at home. Had to pitch it in the trash. Certainly not a universal scenario, but you should know how well your LFS handles them.

Live Blackworms

Does anyone know of a place here in Charlotte that sells live blackworms? I know only of Fintastic, but they are always out when I go.
