Mielke I modded a fluval edge (6.5 gallons?) to house 2 cfl spirals (23 watts each 5500k) and had a natural co2 system. I had decent growth and no algae. I'd try using one of these bulbs with some sort of a reflector over it. Maybe just a desk lamp over your tank? Heres the bulbs I used http://www.osh.com/eng/product/tcp_2...6_base/6709166

I plan on building a small 3 gal pico cube to house an assortment of shrimp.

I would like to a nice mat of glosso and maybe do a nice center rock or branch popping out of the cube. Maybe add some hairgrass or mosses. Not sure I just know I want to keep it really simple and clean so I can look at the little buggers while making sure they are comfortable as well.

I wont be using Co2 but prob will dose excel.

I want to keep the light as minimalistic as possible. Prob an Led or maybe a miniature Spiral CFL DIY creation. If did do the cfl how small of a bulb could i get away with?

I want to do a medium light setup.
