plamski Ok, I’ll think about it. I’d like to see what gender they will become.

speedie408 Think of them as a high grade Red Tigers . I called them "Golden Tigers". Here's a couple of mine when I was keeping them.

wicca27 really the gold color is no diff than some cherrys having a stripe down them, or some people have blond hair and some have brown. heck my red tigers will some times get a dark almost blue colored head too

AVN Umm... any species can have a variation, there's no shrimp species that has a 100% genetic consistency, that would require generations of inbreeding to eliminate all the recessive traits.

I've had RCS give birth to a Yellow Neo, when they grew up it was still yellow, and that is where the Yellow Neo species began to be bred from, variations like that. In this case, the normal tiger is a Red Tiger with different genes, ones that make it brown/gold instead of clear and red. It's the layer of pigments in their shell.

steve0199us So, do the red tigers NOT breed true all the time?
11-17-2012 05:24 PM
james1542 Slap the name "burnt pumpkin" on them and start the inbreeding!

wicca27 there are i think 2 kinds of red tigers. the clear body and the gold body. most of mine are well were gold bodied i only had like 2 out of 6 that were clear bodied. not sure y some are gold colored but they can produce both from what i have seen
