$24.99 I currently have them in a 2.5 with a bunch of leaf litter, floating logs, clay pot and sponge filter. Doing great!

Decker Taso (owner at Archers) gets in a lot of apistos as of late and can custom order you a large variety of them as well. Besides those Qck mentioned, I've seen mendezi, bitaeniata, borellii, and panduro; most of these species were ~$10 or less if memory serves me correct.

Qckwzrd @ RWaters I went by Archers today (I'll be going every thurs since my daughter has a class for 2 hrs in the area) and I checked the names and prices for all the Apistos. Apisto Cacatoids $18 Agazzi fire red $25 Agassizi $45pr. Im not familiar with these guys at all, but I tried. I picked up more pygmy cories (since the last ones I got are doing good and a pr of B. coccina.

I sometimes wish I was in Brooklyn. This is one of those times. I'd like to see what Apisto's they have and what they're going for.

Bananableps Holy [censored][censored][censored][censored].

I recognize that guy. Thankfully, not the person I was thinking of. What a complete nightmare.

DanPlanted Just looked into Fauna and the owner, found a long and informative article about the owner on The Washington Post, seems so crazy.

Bananableps Fauna was an incredible store. It's where I bought the components to my first planted tank. Place had a more exotic stock than most zoos. Great staff, too.

You're right though: the rent must have been crazy there. Not sure how they lasted all those years.

LOL funny. I went to Fauna maybe twice, beautiful store and really nice livestock. Fish was so so, but as stated, never seen a lot of people there and I'm sure the rent for that place had to be ridiculous! Sorry to hear they closed tho.

Seriously? Daniel the guy who hand raised parrots? I knew Daniel and I find that hard to believe. Also I'm pretty sure he was the manager, not the owner.

I assumed they closed because they had enormous overhead and hardly ever any customers.

Manhattan Aquariums on the west side usually has some. They have a pretty good selection of cichlids in general.
