Tank didn't do so well with the low amount of plants and got tired of algae. Setting the tank of for shell dwelling cichlids. Since the water will be high ph and hard was thinking of java fern or anubais nana as the main plant. Has anyone had any experience with them in this kind of set up? Low light, no CO2, and very little fert.

Been a few months. Have had nothing but triuble from BGA lately but hopefully I have it under control. Not sure what started it. Probably when I took most of the plants out it unbalanced everything. Can wood rot and cause it to unbalance too?? It has been in there for 2 years.
