chibikaie If anyone has around 25 lbs of spare sand, I'm looking for some too. Considering aragonite sand as well.

ryu1 Oh, that was meant for Monster about the finnex, sorry. Anyone know the difference between model 7941 and 7951 except the weight? I don't know how they can ship 40lbs for free and make a profit. Most people use 7941 from the reading.

acitydweller i used some on a friend's 6g finnex but plan the rest for (2) 10g, 55g and 30g. so i may not have enough on hand. otherwise i would offer you some.

ryu1 You probably have enough to spare for a small finnex
Anyway, I might just pickup a bag of sts from grainger but damn they don't open on weekend.

ill snap a photo for ya but there are plenty on tpt. Its made of calcium montmorillonite clay, high cec which is great for precharging. there are people that have used this for years without breakdown which is why i went with this. $10/40lbs shipped online. anywhere other than NY, you can likely go to a supply shop and pick it up a 40lbs bag for $4... mine seemed to be sold through Grainger's when it arrived.

I bought a bag from them and I'll probably buy another one. It's pretty dusty so you should rinse it a couple of times before putting it into your tank. It's incredibly dense so you don't have to worry about it getting kicked up by your filters. However if you have large fish that dig, I'd recommend raising up your intakes well above the sand. I'd split a bag with you but then I realized I might have to use the entire 100lb bag for future projects.

acitydweller im not a fan of black fine substrate and wanted something a bit more natural looking. also found the black diamond to have oddly shaped particles.

ended up getting 80lbs of STS. Thanks Mach.

Also, I found pfs in homedepot, but 5 - 5lbs cost $25+, is it that expensive or I am looking for the wrong one?

We'll go to the place in Brooklyn together which is right over the bridge. It's like 5 minutes from Sunnyside.

But, if I have time during the day myself, I'll pick it up for you too.
