furnfins Great tanks, omg I love those otto's! Got to find some, not that I need the extra fish mind you.

jellie The tank is growing out. My mosses are looking really pretty! But there was also an algae bloom (most likely because I removed a TON of frogbit, shoulda known better).

It's just a shoplight on a ZooMed Vivarium lamp stand.

Monster: I added yellow shrimp from dasob85 on Monday. 71 of them! XD The kids were fighting over the magnifying glasses & it was madness so I didn't get pictures. I really need to update their blog too, lol. It's grown in really well, I removed excess plants a few weeks back and I'm working on a lighting problem but otherwise going beautifully.

Thanks furnfins! That was the idea XD I think all my tanks start with a nice hardscape and then I add plants and it becomes a wilderness because I can't be bothered to do trimmings, lol. Hopefully the 125 turns out nice.

I want to get them again because i only have 2 males but man a college student's budget is really tight... and 4-5 dollars a shrimp +10 dollars SnH is a killer.
Whenever the shrimp shells get really shiny and dark, they are likely to molt soon. A dirty little secret , this is when they are best photographed. Add a pinch or two of calcium clay and ensure they will get through this. I havent had a failed molt in the past 7 months since ive started this and readily give out calcium at meets to help others overcome this problem. Its a simple and inexpensive fix.

Im sure a 125 will come up again on craiglist as they do quite often. Just have to be patient

Sending to the spaceship....
I don't call it a problem because the tank is pretty much zero maintenance (only top-offs), stays pretty, the algae is really easily removed (if I plant it out or block lighting, it just goes away), and the baby shrimp loooooove it. Mad shrimp in that tank, & that's how I finally felt ready to try OEBTs.

Aw, thanks again, all. I'm gobsmacked. I hope the shrimp give you lots of love, aokashi.

Heartnet: ASAP as long as it's reasonably priced. I missed one on craigslist by 4 hrs last week But I do think it's a good thing because I have to focus on this classroom tank.
