antbug I have a 2211 on a mini L as well. I purchased one 13mm double tap. I took the 10mm double tap apart and added one part of the 13mm. Now the double tap acts as an adapter. Flow is good and it's was a lot easier to find a 13mm set of lily's. Plus, that green tubing is an eyesore!

Any reason a stainless strainer wouldn't work with that intake?

robotsongs Yup, that's the direct replacement for the tubing on the outflow. Remember that the 2211 has a smaller outflow than on the intake, which is the 12/16 tubing. Also, 10ft is *way* too much tubing for this pump as the max head on it is 3'11".

I am using the stock tubing on those pipes. The tank is placed in the middle of a shelf though, so I had to run two 90 degree turns in order to get the lines to the tank. In order to do this, I used the stock 90 degree elbows that eheim makes for the 12mm line, but the 9mm elbows are hard right angles which would have been [censored][censored][censored][censored] for flow. I wound up getting some acrylic tubing from TAP and making my own soft elbows super cheap, and have left over stock for homemade lily pipes (which I already did with 12mm tubing-- not too hard.)

If you need elbows and other accessories/replacements for the 2211 they can be hard to find, but I've found that Trilby Tropicals has everything for that filter. Great people there too.

And yeah, a 2211 for a 5g is going to be a lot. You'll definitely have to throttle the output. You might even consider a Zoo-Med 501, as a 5G is the perfect size for that thing (and I'm generally not that fond of that filter).

They're perfectly sized for the tubing and they provide the perfect flow for the tank-- not too strong, but they circulate water well over every cubic inch of the tank. If yo use an adapter to connect a larger 13mm outflow, you'll have much less of a stream coming out, though that may be what you want with a smaller tank. If it's anything larger than the Mini-S though, I would strongly advise against it. If you're using it on your 12long, I don't think this filter is going to do it for you-- there's been too many people who have reported having stagnant water on the opposite end of the tank, some even with a 2213 (unless they're using a spraybar across the *entire* tank).

Moral of the story: the larger a piece that you put on the end of the outflow, the less flow you're going to have. Stick with a small 9 or 10mm piece.
Yeah, I don't think an adapter would help the flow. Do you think the option I posted above would work? I am putting this filter on a 5 gallon tank, so I think it will be enough. lol. Are you using the stock tubing with those lily pipes?

maxwellag I may have found a solution. Can someone please confirm that this will work?:
Using this Eheim 9/12mm tubing:
http://www.kensfish.com/moreinfo/ehe...-12-mm-10.html
I should be able to swap the tubing that is already on it with this, and connect them to a 10mm lily pipe set.
Do you guys think this will work? What do you think?

maxwellag Could I get different hosing so both the intake and output are using the same hose, and then find a matching size lily pipe set? Would 13mm tubing fit? What size tubing would I need to use for a 13mm set to fit? Would that size pipe fit on the nozzles of the 2211?

maxwellag The person I am getting it from isn't sure what size the hoses they have on it are... Hmmm.

AquaPipes That or get a set of 13mm, and a hose adapter to convert from 9mm ID to 13mm ID.

Borikuan 13mm for the intake, 9mm for the outflow...

Eheim 2211 Questions

I recently bought an Eheim 2211 online and it is going to arrive shortly. I would like to get some lily pipes for it, and am not sure what size to get. What size lily pipes will I need?
Thank You!
